Training with Counter Culture Solutions.
Yesterday I got the chance to train with JD at Counter Culture Solutions out in Bedford VA. He was running a foundational pistol course, and it was exactly what a lot of us needed. A solid return to the basics done right.
Counter Culture Solutions is a training company founded by Joshua Daniel, a retired Special Forces Green Beret with over 20 years in Special Operations. They focus on practical firearms training, from foundational pistol all the way up to duty pistol and more advanced work. JD and his team put a heavy emphasis on building real skills that actually transfer when it matters, whether you’re a civilian, LEO, or just someone who wants to be competent with a gun.
The course was five hours long and they trained rain or shine. No excuses, just solid reps. What stood out most was the group. We had guys who had been in Army Special Forces standing right next to people who were shooting live fire for only the second time in their life. That kind of mix can be awkward in a lot of places, but Counter Culture made everyone feel welcome from the jump.
This is pretty typical of Special Forces guys. Their whole background is built on working with people from completely different walks of life, building trust fast, and bringing a team together under pressure. They’re trained to network, communicate, and lead across skill levels and cultures. When they bring that same approach into civilian training, it shows. Beginners don’t feel left behind, and experienced guys don’t feel like they’re wasting time.
The whole day had a good feel to it. A lot of faith-minded people out there grinding and sharpening each other. No ego, just guys who want to get better and be ready.
If you like to train and you’re looking for people who take it seriously while still keeping it real, check out Counter Culture Solutions. This lines up with the kind of mission Bleed Ready already pushes — being prepared, staying sharp, and surrounding yourself with the right people.
Maybe we’ll see you out there.
Stay safe. God bless.
